We have updated our general terms.

We are celebrating our sixth birthday! And it's certainly not April Fools' Day...

Recently we have had the opportunity to work on a very interesting and new project. We produced subtitles for a new film by Academy Award winning director Jan Svěrák. The film is called "Po strništi bos" in Czech, which means "Barefoot across a Stubble Field", but the English name has not been decided yet. Based on a translated screenplay that was provided to us, we complemented the translated screeplay with our own translation where necessary. Our output was then extensively proofread by an English native speaker.

We have run a successful training session in subtitling. The training is intended mainly for larger companies that wish to increase the skillset of their own network of translators. The half-day session first covers the theoretical basis of subtitling, its norms and practical tips. Interactive videos provide a clear illustration of common mistakes in subtitling. Then, in the second half of the session, each participant tries to subtitle a short video. By the end of the session, the participant will be able to subtitle videos and will know basic principles of subtitling. He or she then can built on this foundation during his or her further work. It is hard to believe but we are celebrating our fifth anniversary! We have come a long way since five years ago. But there are still things that could be done better and we have many interesting ideas, so we will largely celebrate by working. Team of Subtitles.Company wishes you a nice spring.
